GECKO MATCHED SERVO MOTORS WITH HEDS ENCODER
Get a Geckodrive G320 for $99 or a G340 for $129 if purchased with a servo motor!
Skewed rotor design -These are actual servo motors, not just a DC motor with an encoder on it. The marked difference is in the skewing of the rotor resulting in very low cogging which makes these servos suitable for high resolution applications such as tight tolerance CNC machining. Like all of our motors, they are very well made.
The high quality HEDS-9100 optical encoder comes mounted on the rear shaft of the motor.
The electrical specifications of these motors were devised to work specifically with Geckodrives but work with any brush type servo drives with appropriate electrical parameters.
Shaft diameter is 1/2".
A 90 volt version is available on request at the same price.
Encoder Options:
The encoder unit comes in standard plastic or with a protective metal housing. Both options are available with a choice of 250 or 500 lines.
The metal encoder housing is CNC machined, black anondized and comes completely installed with a convenient DB-9 Female connector.

Scope Diagnostic at 72VDC With 500CPR Encoder

The scope trace shows how quickly the motor responds to a command to reverse from 400 rpm CW to 400 rpm CCW.
The green trace is motor current taken with a Tektronix current probe. Note the current limiting at 21A. The yellow trace shows the position error in response to the instantaneous reversal command. The motor reverses direction and catches up to where it should be in less than 0.025 seconds.
The motor generated 1058 watts (about 1.4 HP) while reversing in that brief period of time.
